Ive said the team already built a working prototype and plans to bring the device to market in “even less than” two years. He said the design centers on creating something people can use without hesitation, suggesting a device meant for everyday use rather than a specialized tool. While at Apple, Ive lead the design team for iconic products including the iMac, iPhone and iPad. “I also love incredibly…
Worldpay has debuted a tool aimed to promote AI-powered payment integration and agentic commerce. Worldpay MCP, announced Monday (Nov. 24), is available now via the company’s Developer Hub and Github, letting developers and merchants create artificial intelligence agents and direct payment integrations with Worldpay’s API. The MCP is an open standard introduced late last year by Anthropic, designed to make AI systems more useful in real-world business settings. It allows artificial intelligence models like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini to securely connect to business tools, databases and workflows. “Modern AI models are great at generating text and insights but generally cannot act on live data,” PYMNTS…
For decades, the mechanics of business payments barely changed. Wires, ACH batches and card networks moved money from point A to point B with only modest variations in speed and supporting information. The real differentiator across this historical ecosystem was financial strategy: how companies managed liquidity, planned capital allocation and navigated working capital constraints. But with real-time payment rails, AI-driven reconciliation tools and Saturday’s (Nov. 22) migration to the ISO 20022 messaging standard reshaping much that has to do with moving money from A to B, finance leaders face a new mandate around the strategic potential of the information embedded within each…
Model ML has raised $75 million for its financial-services-focused artificial intelligence (AI) workflow automation platform. The company says this new funding, announced in a Monday (Nov. 24) news release, is among the largest FinTech Series A rounds on record. “Model ML is setting a new standard for how financial institutions leverage AI to achieve superior client results,” said Steve McLaughlin, founder and CEO of FT Partners, which led the funding round. “While we expect significant efficiency gains, the true power of Model ML lies in the insights it will unlock for our clients, investors, and the broader FinTech ecosystem. We believe Model ML will…
The White House has reportedly paused an executive order designed to stop state-level regulation of artificial intelligence (AI). The draft executive order would have targeted those AI rules with lawsuits and by withholding federal funds. But as Reuters reported Friday (Nov. 21), citing unnamed sources, those plans are now on hold. The report said that while the order was likely to face major pushback from the states, the fact that it was even considered demonstrates the extent of the Trump administration’s willingness to assist AI companies dealing with laws they claim limit innovation. The executive order would have called on Attorney General Pam Bondi…
Some of the world’s biggest insurers want to exclude artificial intelligence (AI) risks from corporate policies. Companies such as AIG, Great American and WR Berkley have recently asked U.S. regulators for leave to offer policies that exclude liabilities related to companies using AI tools like agents and chatbots, the Financial Times (FT) reported Sunday (Nov. 23). This is happening amid a rush by businesses to adopt AI, leading to some costly errors related to “hallucinations” by the technology. According to the report, WR Berkeley wants to block claims involving “any actual or alleged use” of AI, including products or services sold by companies “incorporating” the technology. And in a filing…
