OpenAI has switched on inference residency in the United Arab Emirates, giving some enterprise and education customers a much tighter grip on where their AI workloads are processed. This is different from simply keeping stored data inside the country. With inference residency enabled, eligible organizations can have GPU-based model execution on covered customer content take place within the UAE itself.
