The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) has launched a new artificial intelligence-powered platform aimed at making environmental, social, and governance reporting more practical for the country’s IT-BPM industry. This new IBPAP AI-powered ESG intelligence engine is designed to help companies enhance their sustainability initiatives.
Called benchmark PH: IT-BPM ESG Pulse Navigator, the platform is being introduced as a purpose-built ESG intelligence engine for Philippine technology and business process companies.
It is not simply another sustainability questionnaire.
Built by sustainability technology company SusTek.ai, benchmark PH uses AI to guide companies through ESG assessments, compare performance against relevant industry peers, and generate customized ESG reports.
For an industry employing around 1.9 million Filipinos and generating roughly $40 billion in revenue, that could make ESG reporting far less intimidating.
AI Takes Some of the Friction Out of ESG Reporting
ESG reporting has a reputation for becoming complicated quickly.
Large companies may have dedicated sustainability teams. Smaller firms often do not. Yet both can face questions about environmental practices, workforce policies, governance and sustainability commitments when dealing with global clients.
benchmark PH is designed to narrow that gap.
Instead of relying on traditional survey-style assessments, participating companies work through an interactive system with a built-in AI Assist feature. It explains fields in straightforward language and helps respondents navigate the information required for the assessment.
The platform evaluates companies across 13 material ESG topics considered particularly relevant to IT-BPM businesses.
That industry-specific approach matters. A generic sustainability framework built around factories, logistics or heavy physical infrastructure does not necessarily reflect the risks and realities of a technology and human-capital-heavy business.
Companies Can See How They Compare Without Exposing Peer Data
benchmark PH also introduces industry benchmarking.
A participating company’s ESG information can be compared with organizations in similar cohorts based on company profiles. Peer comparisons are anonymized, meaning companies receive useful context without seeing another organization’s private data.
The system follows a privacy-by-design approach, according to details surrounding the launch.
Once the assessment is completed, companies receive a customized ESG report that can help identify gaps, priorities and areas where sustainability performance may need more attention.
There is a commercial angle here, too.
Global clients are increasingly asking suppliers and outsourcing partners about sustainability during procurement and request-for-proposal processes. Having structured ESG information available could make answering those questions considerably easier.
IBPAP Wants ESG Tools Available Beyond the Biggest Players
IBPAP Chief Operating Officer and ESG Chairperson Celeste Ilagan said the definition of industry leadership is changing.
Scale and operational performance still count, but sustainability, responsibility and trust are increasingly part of the equation as clients, investors and regulators pay closer attention to ESG performance.
That puts pressure on companies that may want to improve sustainability reporting but lack specialists or mature internal systems.
benchmark PH was built with those companies in mind as much as the sector’s largest operators.
SusTek.ai founder and CEO Danny Condecido said industry-specific ESG frameworks can better account for the realities of technology and human-capital-intensive organizations. The goal behind benchmark PH is to use AI to make sustainability assessment and reporting easier to understand while keeping the results relevant to the IT-BPM value chain.
AI Is Moving Deeper Into Philippine Business Infrastructure
Most AI headlines still revolve around chatbots, coding assistants and increasingly capable generative models.
This launch points to another side of the AI market.
AI is quietly moving into the operational layers of businesses — compliance, reporting, benchmarking, procurement and corporate decision-making.
benchmark PH is a fairly specific example, built for one industry and one complicated business problem rather than trying to be an everything-for-everyone AI product.
That may be exactly where enterprise AI becomes most useful.
For the Philippine IT-BPM industry, the bigger question now is whether companies actually adopt the platform and turn the generated ESG intelligence into measurable changes.
The technology can make the paperwork easier.
What organizations do with the information afterward is still very human.
