Dubai is expanding its artificial intelligence ambitions deeper into the private sector, this time with a large-scale Agentic AI training programme aimed at helping businesses understand how autonomous AI systems could fit into daily operations.

Dubai Chambers has introduced specialised Agentic AI training tracks for more than 14,000 private sector companies represented through Business Groups and Business Councils operating under Dubai Chamber of Commerce. The initiative reflects Dubai’s broader effort to move AI adoption beyond experimentation and into practical business use.

Agentic AI differs from conventional generative AI because it can go beyond producing answers or content. These systems can potentially plan tasks, use connected tools, complete multi-step workflows and make decisions within defined boundaries. For businesses, that creates new possibilities around automation, productivity and operational efficiency.

Dubai Chambers Expands Agentic AI Training Across the Private Sector

The training programme forms part of Dubai’s wider push to prepare companies for the next stage of artificial intelligence adoption. Rather than focusing only on technology firms or large enterprises with dedicated AI teams, Dubai Chambers is bringing the programme to a much broader group of businesses operating across different sectors.

More than 14,000 companies are expected to benefit from the specialised training tracks. This scale gives Dubai a chance to introduce Agentic AI concepts to companies that may not yet have experimented with autonomous systems but are already looking for ways to reduce repetitive work, improve decision-making and increase productivity.

The move also reflects a change in how businesses are approaching AI. Generative AI tools were often introduced as assistants for writing, research and customer support. Agentic AI takes that idea further by allowing software to complete a sequence of actions rather than waiting for constant human prompts.

Dubai Chambers Academy Will Deliver the Training

The programme will be delivered through Dubai Chambers Academy, an e-learning platform designed to provide companies with access to business training and professional development programmes. The Agentic AI tracks will give participants practical exposure to tools, use cases and emerging applications.

The training is expected to help companies understand where Agentic AI could realistically support their operations. That may include areas such as customer service, internal reporting, administrative processes, sales workflows, research and other repetitive activities that can be structured into clear steps.

The emphasis on practical use cases is important. Not every business process needs an AI agent, and not every organisation is ready for autonomous systems. Training gives companies an opportunity to evaluate where the technology could create measurable value before committing to wider deployment.

Agentic AI Moves Beyond Traditional AI Assistants

Agentic AI is attracting attention because it changes the relationship between users and software. Traditional AI assistants generally respond to individual prompts. Agentic systems can potentially receive an objective, break it into smaller tasks, use external tools and complete parts of a workflow with limited human intervention.

In a business environment, this could eventually allow companies to automate more complicated processes. An AI agent might gather information from multiple sources, update internal systems, generate reports or complete routine administrative actions without requiring an employee to guide every step.

That does not mean human oversight disappears. Companies still need governance, security controls and clearly defined boundaries. The difference is that employees may increasingly supervise AI systems rather than manually completing every individual task themselves.

Dubai Sees Productivity as a Major Agentic AI Opportunity

Productivity appears to be one of the central goals behind the initiative. Dubai Chambers has highlighted the potential for Agentic AI to support complex task management, improve decision-making and help companies operate more efficiently.

For businesses, the appeal is straightforward. Many companies still rely on employees to move information between systems, prepare repetitive reports, answer routine questions or coordinate administrative processes. Agentic AI could reduce some of that workload if it can operate safely and reliably within existing business systems.

Smaller companies may find the technology particularly interesting because AI agents could give them access to levels of automation that previously required larger teams or expensive custom software. That could help narrow the technology gap between major enterprises and smaller businesses.

Agentic AI Training Is Part of a Wider Dubai Strategy

The training initiative is not an isolated project. Dubai Chambers has also established an Executive Committee for Agentic AI to support the private sector’s transition toward autonomous AI technologies.

The wider programme includes plans for specialised training, incubators for Agentic AI companies and additional support for businesses developing or adopting agent-based solutions. This suggests Dubai is looking beyond simple awareness campaigns and is trying to build a broader ecosystem around Agentic AI.

That ecosystem approach could matter over time. Training companies to use AI is one part of the equation, but Dubai also wants to encourage local development, startup activity and investment around the technology. If successful, the city could position itself not only as a major user of Agentic AI but also as a hub for companies building these systems.

Dubai Wants Businesses Ready Before Agentic AI Becomes Mainstream

The timing of the programme is significant because Agentic AI is still developing quickly. Many businesses are experimenting with AI agents, but large-scale enterprise adoption remains uneven.

Dubai appears to be preparing companies early rather than waiting for the technology to become standard across industries. By introducing thousands of businesses to Agentic AI now, the emirate could create a stronger base of companies that understand how the technology works and where it may offer practical benefits.

There is also a competitive advantage in early preparation. Businesses that understand how to integrate autonomous AI systems may be able to redesign processes faster as the technology improves. Companies that delay adoption could find themselves trying to catch up later.

Dubai’s Private Sector Becomes a Testing Ground for Agentic AI

Dubai has one of the region’s most active business environments, giving the city a large pool of companies where Agentic AI can be tested across different sectors and use cases.

Training 14,000 businesses does not mean all of them will deploy AI agents immediately. Some may identify clear opportunities, while others may discover that their current systems, data or security frameworks are not yet ready.

That difference is part of the value of the programme. Effective AI adoption depends on understanding when the technology is useful and when traditional processes remain more appropriate. Training can help companies make that distinction before investing heavily.

Agentic AI Is Becoming Part of Dubai’s Economic Strategy

Dubai’s latest move shows how Agentic AI is starting to shift from a technology trend into a broader economic strategy.

The focus is no longer limited to who can build the most capable model. Governments and companies are increasingly interested in how AI can improve productivity, reduce operational friction and support business growth.

Dubai Chambers is approaching that transition from the business skills side. By giving thousands of companies early exposure to Agentic AI, Dubai is trying to prepare its private sector for a future where autonomous systems may become a normal part of everyday business operations.

Training alone will not guarantee successful adoption. Companies still need strong data, secure systems, clear governance and realistic use cases. But helping 14,000 businesses understand the technology creates a substantial starting point.
