Artificial intelligence is moving into some of the most operationally important parts of the economy. These include government services and scientific research. Also, it is impacting energy, transport and industrial infrastructure.

That shift will be a major focus at Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026. At the event, companies and government organisations are preparing to demonstrate how AI is being applied beyond consumer chatbots and experimental projects.

The event takes place on October 6–7 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. It will bring together AI companies, government organisations, researchers, investors and technology leaders from around the world.

The programme will put particular attention on government AI, scientific discovery, AI infrastructure and critical infrastructure. This focus reflects Abu Dhabi’s broader push to build an AI ecosystem around deployment rather than demonstrations alone.

AI Is Moving Into Abu Dhabi Government Operations

Government will be one of the central areas of discussion at Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026. This is because Abu Dhabi is already using AI across parts of its public-sector operations. The Department of Government Enablement has been developing an AI-driven government ecosystem. This ecosystem is designed to help agencies use artificial intelligence for services, workflows and decision-making.

More than 100 AI use cases are reportedly operational across more than 40 government entities, highlighting the scale at which Abu Dhabi is approaching public-sector AI adoption.

Microsoft is also expected to demonstrate technologies including Copilot, Azure AI, cybersecurity tools and AI agents at the event. Its participation is focused on practical applications for government employees, including information access, workflow support and productivity.

The company has said its AI tools are being made available to approximately 35,000 Abu Dhabi government employees.

That creates a very different conversation from simply asking whether a government department should experiment with AI. Once thousands of employees begin using AI systems, issues such as data access, cybersecurity, governance and human oversight become part of the deployment itself.

AI Infrastructure Is Becoming Critical to Scientific Research

Scientific research increasingly depends on the ability to process and move enormous volumes of data. This makes infrastructure one of the less visible but important pieces of the AI economy. Ai Everything Abu Dhabi will highlight this side of the technology. It will do so through companies developing systems for high-performance computing and AI workloads.

VDURA is expected to introduce its Data Platform V12 to the Middle East market at the event. The platform is designed for environments including AI factories, GPU clouds and neocloud infrastructure. These are places where researchers and organisations need high-performance access to large datasets.

The company is also working with New Mexico State University. There, researchers use large-scale computing for work spanning agriculture, aerospace and biomedicine.

The example illustrates a broader reality surrounding AI research. More powerful models do not operate in isolation. They require storage, computing capacity, networking and data-management systems capable of supporting increasingly demanding workloads.

For research institutions, that infrastructure can determine how quickly AI experiments move from datasets and simulations into useful scientific results.

Critical Infrastructure Is Becoming a Major AI Deployment Ground

Industrial and critical infrastructure operators are also looking to AI to improve how they monitor equipment, predict failures and coordinate maintenance. At Ai Everything Abu Dhabi, IFS will showcase industrial AI applications across sectors including energy, oil and gas, aviation, manufacturing, utilities, ports and defence.

The company’s approach extends beyond simply predicting when equipment might fail. AI can also help connect operational data with the actions that follow. This includes maintenance planning, spare-parts management, scheduling and field-service work.

That distinction matters in critical infrastructure. A predictive system can identify a potential problem. However, organisations still need to determine what should happen next and how quickly people should respond.

The increasing use of AI in these environments also brings higher expectations around reliability and oversight. Infrastructure operators cannot treat an AI recommendation in the same way they might treat an experimental recommendation inside a low-risk office application.

Abu Dhabi Is Building a Wider AI Ecosystem

Ai Everything Abu Dhabi is taking place against the backdrop of a wider effort to develop Abu Dhabi as a centre for artificial intelligence, advanced computing and technology research. Government organisations, research institutions and technology companies are increasingly operating within the same ecosystem. This is creating opportunities for AI technologies to move from research environments into commercial and public-sector applications.

The event’s programme includes areas such as agentic AI, sovereign AI, AI computing infrastructure, autonomous systems, cybersecurity and responsible AI deployment.

Organisations expected to participate include the Advanced Technology Research Council, Technology Innovation Institute and Khalifa University. These will appear alongside technology companies working across AI models, infrastructure and applications.

The Technology Innovation Institute is also expected to showcase developments from its Falcon family of large language models. This will include work focused on Arabic AI capabilities.

That regional focus is significant. AI adoption is no longer only about importing models developed elsewhere. Instead, governments and organisations are increasingly interested in building computing capacity, research capabilities and AI systems that reflect local languages, regulations, data requirements and economic priorities.

The Focus Is Shifting From AI Demos to Deployment

The central question surrounding Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026 is increasingly practical: what happens after the AI demonstration ends?

Government departments want technology that can improve services and employee workflows. Researchers need computing and data infrastructure capable of handling larger workloads. Industrial operators need systems that can help manage complex assets. Companies want AI agents that can perform useful tasks rather than simply generate impressive responses.

Those demands are pushing artificial intelligence deeper into the operational side of organisations.

Ai Everything Abu Dhabi will bring many of these technologies and organisations together on October 6–7 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. Therefore, the event is positioned not only as a showcase for new AI products, but also as a window into how governments, researchers and infrastructure operators are approaching the next phase of AI adoption.

For Abu Dhabi, that means demonstrating how AI can become part of the systems that already keep government, research and critical industries running.
