WTM London 2026 Launches WTM Travel Tech to Showcase AI and Digital Innovation in Travel. WTM London is expanding its technology focus with the launch of WTM Travel Tech 2026. This new co-located event is designed to put travel technology, artificial intelligence, data-driven platforms and digital transformation into the spotlight.

The new event will be launched at WTM London 2026, which is being held from 3–5 November 2026 at ExCeL London. It follows the trend of the travel and tourism sector quickly embracing technology. Indeed, AI, big data, IoT, fintech and automation are becoming increasingly important to airlines, hotels, tourism boards, travel agencies and destination operators.

WTM Travel Tech 2026 Meets Growing Need for Travel Innovation

The introduction of WTM Travel Tech addresses a rising need from exhibitors, buyers and visitors seeking dedicated access to travel technology providers. WTM London reports that the travel technology sector at the event has seen strong year-on-year growth. In addition, there are an increasing number of visitors actively looking to meet with technology companies.

The new event will have its own dedicated hall and entrance, providing a focused environment for global technology leaders, travel innovators, investors and decision-makers. It will run alongside the wider WTM London event. Furthermore, this event attracts tens of thousands of travel professionals from more than 180 countries.

AI, Big Data, IoT Lead the Way

A large component of WTM Travel Tech 2026 will be The Innovation Highway, an interactive display of emerging technologies transforming the travel industry.

Likely to be in the spotlight are:

    • Artificial intelligence for travel operations and customer experience
    • Big data for smarter destination planning and personalization
    • IoT solutions for connected travel and hospitality services
    • Green technology for sustainable tourism
    • Digital platforms and integrations for travel businesses
    • Fintech and payment solutions for global travel commerce

AI is fast becoming a mainstream tool in the travel industry beyond the experimental stage. Companies are using intelligent systems to improve customer support, automate operations, predict demand and personalize offers. They also optimize pricing and manage disruptions more effectively.

Future Stage to Host Travel Tech Leaders and AI Discussions

WTM Travel Tech will also feature a dedicated content theatre called the Future Stage. The programme will include case studies, fireside chats, expert panels, and discussions with senior executives from across the travel technology ecosystem.

The Future Stage agenda will focus on major industry themes such as:

    • Digital transformation
    • AI and intelligent operations
    • Data strategy
    • Payments and fintech
    • Platforms and system integration
    • Distribution and retail
    • Risk, disruption, and geopolitics
    • Investment and innovation

The conference programme is being shaped with input from newly appointed advisers, including experts from academia, consulting, tourism technology, and market research.

Sustainable Travel Technology Will Also Be Highlighted

WTM Travel Tech 2026 will not only focus on automation and digital growth. Sustainability will also be a key theme, with green technology solutions expected to be on show as the travel industry seeks lower-carbon operations and more responsible models of tourism.

These could include technologies that help destinations manage visitor flows, reduce energy use, improve transport efficiency and support more sustainable travel planning.

Why This Matters For the Future of Travel

The launch of WTM Travel Tech reflects the increasing importance of digital innovation to the future of the global travel industry. As travel companies deal with evolving consumer expectations, climate pressure, economic uncertainty and operational disruption, technology is becoming a central component of business strategy.

AI and data tools are especially important as they can help travel businesses make faster decisions, lower costs, enhance customer experiences, and open up new revenue opportunities.

WTM London is establishing WTM Travel Tech 2026 as a major platform for companies developing the next generation of digital travel solutions. They are creating a dedicated space for travel technology.

    The Bigger Picture

Travel technology is no longer a niche part of the tourism industry. It is becoming one of the main drivers of how people search, book, experience and manage travel.

The travel sector is entering a new era of digital transformation, from AI-led trip planning to smart destination management and fintech-driven bookings. WTM Travel Tech 2026 will provide a dedicated platform for travel brands, technology companies, investors and industry leaders. Here, they can explore where the market is heading next.

For AI companies and travel technology providers, the event could be an important global platform to showcase how intelligent systems are changing the way the world travels.
