Meta Launches Muse AI in Singapore to Handle Shopping, Travel and Everyday Tasks

Meta has launched Muse AI in Singapore, introducing a personal artificial intelligence agent designed to help people complete everyday tasks rather than simply answer questions. The service became available on October 27, 2026, bringing AI-powered assistance to shopping, travel planning, email management and personal scheduling.

The launch connects Muse with several popular services in Singapore, including Grab, Shopee, Lazada, Singapore Airlines, Agoda and Klook. Users can also link applications such as Gmail, Google Calendar and Instagram to help manage their daily activities.

Unlike conventional chatbots, Muse aims to take a more active role in completing tasks. It can research information, compare options, organise activities and help users move forward with longer-term projects.

Meta Muse AI Moves Beyond Simple Conversations

Most AI chatbots respond to questions and generate information, leaving users to complete the actual work. Muse takes a different approach by combining conversational AI with tools that can perform tasks across connected services.

Someone planning a holiday, for example, could ask Muse to investigate flights, compare accommodation options and research activities at their destination. Instead of searching multiple websites individually, users can work through these decisions within a single conversation.

Meta has also designed Muse to handle more complicated assignments that require several steps. The agent can organise information, monitor ongoing activities and help turn larger goals into practical plans. For longer tasks, it can continue working after users close the application and notify them when something changes or approval is required.

The launch reflects a growing interest in AI agents capable of taking action. Generating answers is no longer the only priority. Technology companies are increasingly developing systems that can interact with digital services and reduce the amount of manual work people perform.

Shopping Becomes Easier With Shopee, Lazada and Grab Integrations

Shopping is one of the main areas Meta is targeting with Muse’s Singapore rollout. The company has partnered with Shopee, Lazada and Grab to connect its AI agent with services already familiar to local consumers.

Through Shopee and Lazada, Muse can help users research products, compare prices and identify options that match their preferences. Someone looking for electronics or household items could ask the agent to investigate available products without manually checking several listings.

Grab brings additional possibilities through its grocery and dining services. Muse can assist with grocery planning through GrabMart and help users explore restaurant options through Grab Dine Out. These features are intended to make routine activities more convenient, particularly when several decisions or purchases are involved.

The integrations will not all arrive at once. Meta confirmed that some connector features will become available progressively after launch, meaning users may need to wait before accessing certain services.

Singapore Airlines, Agoda and Klook Bring AI Into Travel Planning

Travel planning often involves switching between airline websites, hotel platforms and booking applications. Muse aims to simplify that process by connecting users with services including Singapore Airlines, Agoda, Klook and Trip.com.

The AI agent can help travellers investigate flight options, explore accommodation choices and research activities based on their interests. Users planning a short holiday or a longer international trip could ask Muse to compare available services and organise relevant information.

ShopBack is another partner in the Singapore rollout, bringing cashback opportunities and selected shopping and dining deals into the experience. These connections could make it easier for consumers to evaluate offers while planning purchases or travel arrangements.

For travel companies, the development also creates another way to reach customers. Instead of relying entirely on traditional search results or individual booking applications, consumers may increasingly discover travel services through conversations with AI agents.

Gmail, Google Calendar and Instagram Expand Muse’s Productivity Features

Muse is not limited to shopping and travel. Meta has also introduced connections with Gmail, Google Calendar and Instagram, allowing the agent to assist with everyday productivity tasks.

Users who connect Gmail can ask Muse to help organise email-related activities, while Google Calendar integration supports scheduling and coordination. Instagram connectivity allows the agent to draw on saved content when helping users complete relevant tasks.

These features could be useful for people managing busy schedules, particularly when personal appointments, travel plans and other responsibilities overlap. Rather than opening several applications to gather information, users can ask Muse to help bring relevant details together.

Meta says individuals remain responsible for deciding which services the AI agent can access. Permissions can be adjusted or removed, giving users control over the applications and information available to Muse.

Meta Introduces Muse Secure VM to Address Privacy Concerns

Allowing an AI agent to interact with personal accounts introduces important questions about privacy and security. Meta says it developed Muse with a dedicated cloud-based system called Muse Secure VM, designed to protect connected services and sensitive information.

The system stores account credentials and related data within a separate environment, preventing the AI agent from directly viewing passwords and payment methods. Users can choose which applications Muse is allowed to access and modify those permissions when necessary.

Muse must also request approval before completing sensitive actions, including sending emails or making purchases. These confirmation requirements are intended to prevent the agent from carrying out important transactions without the user’s knowledge.

Security remains a significant challenge for autonomous AI systems. Reporting on earlier internal testing identified reliability problems and concerns about unintended access to private information. Meta says it delayed Muse’s initial release to strengthen its safeguards.

The company has also introduced additional monitoring protections to review certain actions before the agent carries them out. Even with these measures, users will need to remain attentive when allowing AI systems to handle personal information or financial transactions.

Muse AI Is Available on iOS, Android and the Web

Meta Muse AI is available to users in Singapore through iOS, Android and the official website, muse.ai. The service offers free access for most everyday activities, while subscription plans provide additional capabilities for users who need more extensive assistance.

Meta also plans to introduce Muse functionality to AI glasses, potentially allowing users to access personal-agent features through wearable devices.

The Singapore launch follows Muse’s earlier introduction in North America and forms part of Meta’s wider effort to make AI agents accessible to mainstream consumers.

Nicole Tan, Managing Director of Meta Singapore, said the company is connecting Muse with established brands across Singapore and the region to make everyday activities easier through services people already use.

Meta Muse AI Singapore Launch Signals a Shift Toward Action-Based AI

The arrival of Muse in Singapore highlights how quickly AI assistants are evolving from conversational tools into systems designed to complete real-world tasks.

Singapore’s established digital economy provides an environment where this approach could gain traction. Consumers already rely on online platforms for transportation, food delivery, shopping and travel, making connected AI services a potentially useful addition.

Still, convenience alone will not determine whether personal AI agents become widely adopted. Users will need confidence that these systems can follow instructions accurately, protect private information and recognise when human approval is necessary.

Meta’s Singapore rollout puts those expectations to the test. With connections spanning shopping, travel and productivity, Muse offers a glimpse of how AI could become more deeply involved in everyday digital activities.

The question now is whether personal AI agents can deliver that convenience consistently enough for people to trust them with more responsibility.
