Australian online travel company Webjet is taking a deep dive into AI-powered travel with the launch of its new Webjet ChatGPT travel app with the aim of making searching for flights and hotels faster, easier and more intuitive.

The integration enables travelers to plan their trips via natural conversations with ChatGPT. Instead of having to move between different travel sites, users can pose questions in everyday language and receive flight options, hotel recommendations, personalized suggestions, and trip planning assistance.

The launch places Webjet among a growing group of travel companies using conversational AI to reshape how people search for and organize travel.

    AI-Powered Travel Planning Inside ChatGPT

With Webjet’s ChatGPT integration, travelers can ask detailed travel questions without relying on traditional filters or manual searches.

    Users can request help with:

    • The best flights for certain dates and budgets
    • Hotel recommendations based on personal preferences
    • Custom itineraries for local or international trips
    • Multi-city travel plans supported by AI

The system uses Webjet’s live travel data to provide current search results for flights and accommodation. Webjet says the app supports international, domestic, and trans-Tasman travel searches directly through ChatGPT.

Real-Time Results and More Personal Recommendations

A major feature of the Webjet ChatGPT travel app is its ability to deliver real-time travel information while adjusting suggestions based on what each user wants.

Rather than using fixed search filters, travelers can refine their plans through conversation. For example, they can ask for cheaper travel dates, hotels in better locations, or more efficient travel routes.

The platform then responds with more relevant travel options almost instantly. Travel industry experts say conversational AI is quickly becoming an important part of travel technology because it helps simplify what can often be a complicated planning process.

    From AI Search to Booking

Bookings are not completed directly inside ChatGPT, but Webjet’s integration helps users move smoothly from AI-generated suggestions to the Webjet booking platform.

Once travelers choose a preferred flight or hotel, they are sent to Webjet’s website to complete the reservation. It makes the process from search to booking more seamless than many traditional travel search tools.

    Webjet’s Wider AI Strategy

The ChatGPT app is part of Webjet’s broader push into technology-driven travel services. The company has been increasing its AI capabilities to offer more personalised, efficient and user-friendly travel experiences.

Webjet’s new platform will focus on:

    • AI-generated itineraries
    • Smarter travel recommendations
    • Simpler booking journeys
    • Combined flight and hotel planning

The company says its long-term goal is to be an all-in-one digital travel companion powered by advanced AI.

AI is changing the way we travel

Webjet’s new deal with ChatGTP is part of a wider shift within the travel industry to use AI tools to tailor trips and simplify booking.

Industry research shows AI travel assistants are improving in their ability to handle complex itineraries, understand traveler preferences and use real-time data to deliver more relevant results. As conversational AI becomes more common, travel companies are moving quickly to bring their services into platforms like ChatGPT so they can stay competitive.

The Future of Conversational Travel Search

Webjet’s ChatGPT travel app shows how AI is changing the way people discover, compare, and book trips.

Travelers can now have a natural conversation with AI to create personalized travel plans in seconds, instead of scrolling through endless search pages and adjusting filters. More travel brands are joining conversational AI platforms, making travel planning faster, smarter and easier for the everyday user.
