    Key Takeaways

    • Samsung Display unveiled the upgraded Samsung Privacy Display at MWC 2026, showcasing new privacy technology built on Flex Magic Pixel hardware.
    • The demonstration featured partial screen privacy, allowing users to shield sensitive information on the lower half or the Edge panel area of the display.
    • This pixel-level technology adjusts visibility based on viewing angles, making content unreadable from the sides when privacy mode is active.
    • Compatible hardware exists in devices like the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with potential for expanded functions through future software updates.
    • Samsung focused on flexible privacy options and confirmed that the showcased configurations are still under development.

Samsung Privacy Display at MWC 2026 was presented by Samsung Display during Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona. The company revealed an upgraded version of its screen privacy technology. The system is built on Flex Magic Pixel hardware. This hardware already supports privacy features in current Galaxy devices.

    Partial Screen Privacy Demonstrated

At the event, Samsung showed new ways to apply privacy mode. One demonstration limited the feature to the lower half of the display. Sensitive information such as passwords and PIN codes could be shielded from side viewing angles. The upper portion of the screen remained visible.

Another configuration applied privacy mode only to the Edge panel area. This setup allows selected sections of the screen to be protected while other areas stay clear. The showcased versions were described as experimental. No commercial release date was announced.

    Flex Magic Pixel Technology

The privacy system operates through pixel-level control. It adjusts visibility depending on the viewing angle. The display becomes difficult to read from the sides when privacy mode is active. The feature can be turned on or off as needed.

Samsung indicated that devices such as the Galaxy S26 Ultra already contain compatible hardware. Expanded functions could potentially be enabled through future software updates.

    Focus on Future Applications

The demonstration highlighted flexible privacy options beyond full-screen protection. The technology allows selective screen shielding based on user activity. Samsung confirmed that the showcased configurations remain under development.

The Samsung Privacy Display at MWC 2026 presentation emphasized ongoing advancements in display-based privacy solutions using existing hardware platforms.
