The city’s aviation profile is also expected to grow with the planned opening of Xiang’an International Airport. Furthermore, Xiamen Airlines CEO and President Xie Bing said the new airport reflects Xiamen’s rising importance as a transportation and business hub.

Xiamen will showcase its coastal setting, culture, hospitality, and expanding role in international connectivity to global aviation leaders attending the 2027 event.

83rd IATA AGM Expected to Focus on Aviation’s Future

The IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit is a major event in global aviation. It gives airline leaders a platform to discuss industry challenges, policy priorities, sustainability, innovation, safety, and the future of air travel.

“China will continue to be a major contributor to the growth of air transport globally. Also, the 2027 event should attract strong interest from the global aviation community.
