Philippine Airlines has officially announced that it is joining the oneworld alliance, marking a major milestone for the flag carrier and the Philippine aviation industry.
The announcement was made during the IATA Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Once the membership process is completed, Philippine Airlines will become oneworld’s 16th member airline and only the second full member based in Southeast Asia.
PAL Passengers to Gain Access to Nearly 1,000 Destinations
The move will significantly expand travel options for Philippine Airlines passengers. PAL Customers will also enjoy access to the extensive oneworld global network of nearly 1,000 destinations in more than 170 countries and territories.
This partnership is also expected to bring more international travellers to the Philippines by linking them to PAL’s domestic and regional routes. The expanded network could strengthen the country’s role as a key travel hub in Southeast Asia.
