The National Experts Program (NEP) has opened applications for Emirati specialists to join its AI track. The programme aims to support the development of artificial intelligence expertise within the UAE. It is part of the UAE’s wider strategy to build local talent in key national sectors.

The call was announced by the NEP, which is run by UAE government authorities. The AI track is designed for Emirati professionals who have experience or interest in artificial intelligence. Applications are open to candidates who meet set eligibility criteria, including educational background and professional experience in AI-related fields.

The programme will offer selected participants structured learning and career development opportunities. These include training sessions, mentorship, and practical AI project exposure. Participants will also engage with national AI initiatives and contribute to strategic AI goals. The NEP said the AI track is tailored to strengthen the UAE’s capabilities in areas such as machine learning, data science, and AI ethics.

The AI track is part of a broader set of pathways under the National Experts Program. NEP’s framework covers multiple specialized areas beyond AI, including space, energy, and advanced technologies. The programme aims to create a network of skilled Emirati experts who can support government and private sector projects.

Interested applicants are required to submit their credentials and documentation through the official NEP portal. The selection process includes a review of qualifications and experience. Successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance and invited to begin the AI track training cycle.

The programme also plans to collaborate with industry partners, academic institutions, and technology organisations. These partnerships are intended to provide practical exposure and research opportunities for participants. NEP said collaborations will enhance the learning environment and offer real-world AI application experience.

Selected participants will join a cohort of Emirati specialists advancing AI knowledge and practice in the UAE. The NEP said the initiative aligns with national goals to increase AI adoption across sectors and to build a competitive workforce for emerging technologies.

The AI track will contribute to long-term capacity building in the UAE. Through training, mentorship, and project engagement, it aims to position Emirati experts at the forefront of AI development and application. The initiative is open for a defined application period, and further details are available on the NEP website.

The programme represents a step in strengthening local expertise in artificial intelligence. It seeks to connect Emirati professionals with resources and opportunities to support national AI priorities. The NEP said it will continue to update stakeholders on programme developments and participant achievements.
