Abu Dhabi-based healthcare group M42 is expanding its use of artificial intelligence through plans to adopt Oracle Health Data Intelligence. This is a platform designed to bring clinical, genomic and real-world healthcare data into one environment.

The system will work alongside Oracle Health Foundation EHR across M42’s healthcare network. The aim is to give clinicians and researchers a stronger data foundation for AI-powered insights and chronic disease management. Furthermore, it will support population health programs and precision medicine.

The first major deployment will focus on diabetes care. M42 plans to use the platform to improve patient engagement, support earlier intervention and strengthen long-term health management.

M42 Brings Healthcare Data Into One AI-Ready Environment

Healthcare organizations generate huge volumes of information. However, that data often sits in separate clinical systems, genomic databases and other platforms. M42 plans to reduce that fragmentation by using Oracle Health Data Intelligence to connect clinical records, genomic information and real-world healthcare data. Creating a more unified environment could make it easier for clinicians and researchers to work with a broader view of patient information. Moreover, it could also give AI systems access to more complete datasets.

AI Could Help Detect Health Risks Earlier

One of the biggest opportunities lies in how M42 could use artificial intelligence to examine large amounts of connected healthcare data. Advanced analytics may help researchers identify patterns, correlations and emerging health risks that would be harder to spot when information is split across several systems. For clinicians, this could support faster and more informed decisions. That would happen by combining different types of patient information into a clearer picture of overall health.

Diabetes Programs Will Be the First Deployment

M42 plans to begin the rollout within its diabetes programs, giving the company a practical environment to test how connected data and AI can support chronic disease care. Diabetes management depends heavily on regular monitoring and patient engagement. Early action when health indicators begin to change is also very important. By using a broader pool of healthcare information, M42 could help clinicians identify risks earlier and adjust care more quickly. As a result, they could improve long-term outcomes for patients.

M42 and Oracle Are Building on an Existing Healthcare Partnership

The new deployment builds on an existing relationship between M42 and Oracle Health. The companies previously worked together on efforts to create unified longitudinal patient records across the UAE healthcare ecosystem. That collaboration also included the integration of data from the Emirati Genome Program into electronic health records. This gives clinicians access to additional information that could support more personalized treatment decisions.

Genomic Data Adds Another Layer to Precision Healthcare

Genomic information could become one of the most valuable parts of M42’s wider healthcare AI strategy. Traditional care decisions usually rely on symptoms, medical history and test results. They also use established treatment guidelines. However, genomic data adds another layer of insight. When genomic information is combined with clinical records and real-world data, AI systems may be able to identify patterns that support more personalized treatments. Thus, better predictions about how individual patients could respond to certain therapies may be possible.

Data Governance Will Matter as Healthcare AI Scales

The expansion of AI in healthcare also puts more attention on how sensitive medical information is managed. M42 says its platform will operate under data, digital and AI governance principles intended to support secure and responsible use while meeting regulatory requirements. This will be critical as larger volumes of clinical and genomic data move into AI-enabled systems. Healthcare organizations need clear controls around who can access the information, how it is analyzed and how AI-generated insights are used in real clinical decisions.

UAE Continues Its Push Into AI-Powered Healthcare

The Oracle deployment reflects a wider push across the UAE to expand the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare, genomics and digital health. M42 has positioned AI, technology and precision medicine as central parts of its strategy. Meanwhile, its Digital Health Solutions business focuses on scaling digital tools and improving interoperability across healthcare systems. A shared data platform could give the company a stronger base for deploying AI across clinical care, population health and medical research.

What Comes Next for M42’s Healthcare AI Strategy

The diabetes rollout could become an important test for M42 before similar capabilities are expanded into other areas of healthcare. If the platform delivers measurable improvements in patient monitoring, clinical decision-making and disease management, the same data architecture could eventually support additional chronic conditions and precision medicine programs across M42’s wider network. Ultimately, the larger story is not simply the adoption of another AI platform. Rather, it is the effort to build the connected data infrastructure needed to make healthcare AI useful at scale.
