Pakistan is putting its artificial intelligence industry in front of a global audience at AI Everything Abu Dhabi 2026, with five Pakistani technology companies showcasing AI products and digital services in the UAE capital.
The companies are exhibiting through the Pakistan Pavilion, established under the Pakistan Software Export Board. Their presence spans areas such as AI-powered data intelligence, surveillance technology, sales solutions and sovereign AI.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Shafqat Ali Khan, inaugurated the pavilion as local technology firms look for customers, investors and new commercial partnerships across the Gulf.
The timing is significant. Pakistan’s IT exports to the UAE reached $536 million in FY2025-26, according to government figures, up 42% from $376 million in the previous financial year.
Pakistan Puts Its AI Industry on Display in Abu Dhabi
The Pakistan Pavilion gives the country’s technology sector a dedicated presence at one of the region’s major AI gatherings. Five Pakistani companies are using the event to present products across AI data intelligence, surveillance, sales technology and sovereign AI. The showcase is not simply about promoting Pakistan as an outsourcing market. It is also about showing that local companies are building their own technology and trying to position those products for international use.
For Pakistan’s software industry, that shift matters. The global AI market is becoming more competitive, and companies are increasingly expected to demonstrate proprietary platforms, specialised applications and deployable products rather than only development services. Abu Dhabi gives Pakistani firms a chance to make that case directly to investors and potential clients.
Ambassador Calls for More Investment in AI Talent
Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan used the opening of the pavilion to highlight the importance of developing stronger AI skills within Pakistan. He stressed the need for continued investment in young people, particularly in artificial intelligence, coding and other advanced digital capabilities that can help local companies compete internationally.
That talent pipeline will become increasingly important as demand for AI specialists grows across the Middle East and other global markets. Pakistan already has a large technology workforce, but moving deeper into artificial intelligence will require stronger expertise in areas such as machine learning, large language models, automation and enterprise AI deployment.
Pakistan’s technology ministry has also identified artificial intelligence as a strategic area for national development. The country’s wider AI plans include efforts to build stronger local capability, support innovation and expand the number of businesses capable of competing in international technology markets.
Pakistan-UAE Technology Trade Is Already Growing
Pakistan’s participation in Abu Dhabi comes against the backdrop of stronger technology trade with the UAE. Official figures show that Pakistan’s IT exports to the Emirates rose from $376 million in FY2024-25 to $536 million in FY2025-26, representing growth of around 42% in one year.
That growth makes the UAE more than just a convenient location for an international technology exhibition. It is already becoming an increasingly important commercial market for Pakistani software and digital services companies. As UAE businesses and government entities continue investing in automation, enterprise AI and digital infrastructure, Pakistani technology firms may see more opportunities to enter the market.
The Pakistan Pavilion also supports a broader push to take more Made in Pakistan and Developed in Pakistan technology into overseas markets. AI could become an important part of that effort, particularly as Gulf countries increase spending on advanced digital systems.
AI Everything Abu Dhabi Draws Global AI Companies and Investors
AI Everything Abu Dhabi 2026 is taking place at the ADNEC Centre on October 6 and 7, bringing together technology companies, investors, policymakers and AI specialists from different parts of the world. The event focuses heavily on the practical deployment of artificial intelligence, with discussion ranging from enterprise adoption to sovereign AI infrastructure and intelligent government services.
According to figures cited by Pakistani officials, the event features more than 500 exhibitors, 150 investors and participants from 70 countries. That scale creates a crowded but valuable marketplace for companies trying to gain attention from potential partners and customers.
For Pakistan’s exhibitors, the event provides direct exposure to decision-makers already looking at AI products and services. It also places them alongside larger global technology companies, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate how their own products compare in areas such as automation, data intelligence and AI-enabled business software.
From IT Services to Exportable AI Products
Pakistan’s appearance at AI Everything Abu Dhabi also reflects a wider transition in its technology sector. Software development and IT services remain important sources of export revenue, but artificial intelligence opens the door to higher-value products that companies can build, own and sell across multiple markets.
Pakistani firms are increasingly exploring areas such as generative AI, intelligent agents, computer vision, business automation and sovereign language models. Those technologies could help move the country’s technology industry beyond contract development and toward the creation of more scalable intellectual property.
The opportunity is substantial, but the challenge is equally clear. Building AI products is only one part of the equation. Companies also need international distribution, investment, enterprise customers and trusted partnerships. Events such as AI Everything Abu Dhabi give Pakistani businesses a place to pursue all four.
For now, the pavilion is a showcase. The more important test will come afterward, when those conversations need to turn into contracts, investment and long-term market presence.
