Hospitality technology company UniFocus has launched Claira, a new AI-native platform designed to bring hotel workforce management, daily operations and performance data into one connected system.
Announced on September 15, 2026, UniFocus Claira targets a familiar problem inside hotels: labor planning, scheduling, housekeeping, maintenance and reporting often live across different systems. Claira brings those functions together and adds artificial intelligence that can surface insights, recommend actions and respond to questions from hotel teams.
The platform is particularly aimed at select-service hotels and hospitality management groups. UniFocus says this segment has historically had limited access to enterprise-grade workforce technology built specifically around its operating model.
UniFocus Claira Brings Hotel Labor and Operations Into One Platform
Claira uses a unified data layer instead of adding AI as a separate feature on top of existing hotel software. The platform brings workforce information and operational activity into one place. This gives managers a clearer view of what is happening across a single property or an entire portfolio.
The system brings together demand forecasting, budgeting, employee scheduling, time and attendance, housekeeping, service requests, maintenance, inspections and inventory. Performance analytics are also included, allowing hotel operators to connect labor decisions with what is actually happening on the property.
For hotel groups, that visibility can extend beyond a single location. Corporate teams can review operational and workforce metrics across multiple properties without pulling information from separate systems or relying on disconnected reporting tools.
Ask Claira Turns Natural-Language Questions Into Actions
One of the more notable features is Ask Claira, the platform’s conversational AI assistant. Hotel managers can ask questions in natural language instead of manually searching dashboards, spreadsheets or reports.
The assistant is designed to return answers, recommendations and suggested actions based on operational data already inside the system. UniFocus says Claira can help optimize schedules, identify compliance issues and flag situations where work may need to be reassigned.
That moves the product beyond simple reporting. Hospitality software has offered dashboards for years, but the newer direction is toward systems that can interpret operational data and suggest what managers should do next.
AI Moves Deeper Into Hotel Workforce Planning
Scheduling is one of the areas where Claira’s AI capabilities become more practical. The platform can use current demand, employee availability and workforce data when helping hotels build schedules and daily assignments.
It can also support time-off requests, shift swaps, attendance tracking and approvals within the same environment. That gives hotel teams a more centralized way to manage staffing changes without jumping between separate tools.
The use case is relatively straightforward. Instead of applying AI to vague or experimental tasks, UniFocus is using it around decisions hotel managers already make every day, including who is available, where staffing shortages exist and whether schedules create potential compliance problems.
Housekeeping and Maintenance Get Real-Time Workflows
Claira also reaches beyond workforce scheduling by connecting housekeeping, maintenance and service operations. Teams can receive assignments through real-time workflows while managers track outstanding requests, preventive work and scheduled tasks from the same platform.
Mobile access gives frontline employees a direct view of their assignments, reducing the need for separate systems or manual communication. That connection between planning and execution is important because workforce data becomes more valuable when it is tied to the actual work happening inside a hotel.
A staffing recommendation, for example, becomes more useful when the same platform understands which rooms need cleaning, what maintenance tasks remain open and which employees have actually reported for a shift.
UniFocus Targets the Hospitality Software Patchwork
Hotels often build up a patchwork of scheduling software, spreadsheets, maintenance systems, housekeeping tools and reporting platforms over time. The result is usually fragmented data and slower decision-making.
Claira is positioned as an alternative to that setup. UniFocus says its unified data foundation allows AI tools to work across both workforce and operational information instead of analyzing isolated parts of the business.
The company had already been moving in this direction before the Claira launch. Earlier platform updates focused on expanded analytics, labor insights and greater visibility across hotel portfolios. Claira brings those capabilities together under a broader AI-native platform.
Why UniFocus Claira Matters for Enterprise AI
The bigger story is not simply the addition of another chatbot. Claira reflects a wider shift in enterprise AI toward systems that are embedded directly into operational workflows.
Hospitality is a strong example because hotels deal with constantly changing occupancy levels, employee availability, maintenance needs, room turnover and labor costs. Those variables create a large number of small decisions throughout the day.
When those signals sit inside one platform, AI can be used in a much more practical way. It can identify patterns, surface problems faster and help managers respond without requiring them to manually review several different systems.
That also puts pressure on hospitality software vendors to move beyond traditional dashboards. As conversational AI becomes better at understanding operational data and recommending actions, the line between analytics software and operational software will continue to narrow.
For UniFocus, Claira is its attempt to sit directly inside that shift.
