The UAE has concluded the eighth edition of the UAE AI Camp, marking another step in the country’s effort to expand practical artificial intelligence skills among students, professionals, entrepreneurs and members of the wider community. Organised by the National Programme for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the National Programme for Coders, the camp brought together participants from different backgrounds and experience levels. In addition, sessions were designed to make AI more understandable, useful and relevant to daily work and study.

The programme focused on more than technical theory. Workshops explored how artificial intelligence is already changing business operations, education, cybersecurity, marketing, transport and digital services. Participants were introduced to tools and concepts that are becoming increasingly important as AI adoption accelerates across the UAE.

UAE AI Camp Focuses on Practical Artificial Intelligence Skills

The eighth edition of the UAE AI Camp placed strong emphasis on practical skills that participants could use beyond the programme itself. Sessions covered generative AI, agentic AI, robotics, cybersecurity, fraud detection, digital safety and other emerging areas. Moreover, participants also explored how AI can support project management, marketing, legal operations, educational content and mobile application development. The broad programme reflected a shift in AI education away from coding alone. Now, the focus is toward understanding how intelligent systems can fit into everyday professional and personal tasks.

Generative AI and Agentic AI Take Centre Stage

Generative AI and agentic AI emerged as two of the programme’s key themes. While generative AI tools focus mainly on creating or transforming content, agentic AI systems take on more complex tasks. These systems can plan actions, use tools and work through multi-step processes with greater independence. This difference is becoming increasingly relevant as companies begin exploring AI agents for operational work rather than relying only on chatbots. As a result, the camp gave participants an opportunity to understand how these technologies differ. They also learned how they may be used in future workplaces.

Future of Transport Hackathon Brings AI Into Real-World Challenges

The programme also included the Future of Transport Hackathon, organised in cooperation with the Transport Authority of the Government of Ajman. The hackathon gave participants the chance to explore how AI could improve transportation services, operational efficiency, data analysis and customer experience. Rather than limiting the programme to lectures and demonstrations, the activity encouraged participants to develop ideas around real transport challenges. Furthermore, this hands-on format helped connect artificial intelligence concepts with problems that government authorities and transport operators could face in actual operating environments.

Technology Companies Support UAE AI Camp

The UAE AI Camp was supported by a range of public and private sector partners, including major technology companies and training organisations. Partners included Google, Microsoft, Intel, Accenture, BytePlus, Brainy n Bright, Think Media Labs, Spectrum and Modesh World, alongside government entities involved in different parts of the programme. Their participation gave attendees exposure to tools, platforms and business use cases that are already shaping AI adoption. Additionally, it also strengthened the connection between skills development and the technologies being introduced across workplaces, classrooms and public services.

Google and Other Partners Expand Hands-On AI Learning

Some activities were designed around specific platforms and learning programmes offered by participating technology companies. Google-related sessions included learning opportunities connected with Gemini, while other workshops introduced participants to enterprise AI, cybersecurity, robotics and emerging digital tools. The involvement of global technology companies helped give the programme a more applied focus. In fact, participants were not only discussing what artificial intelligence could become in the future. They were also seeing how current tools can already support research, productivity, problem-solving and creative work.

UAE AI Camp Builds on Thousands of Previous Participants

The eighth edition continued the growth of a programme that has already attracted tens of thousands of participants across previous editions. More than 34,000 people had taken part in the first seven editions, according to earlier official announcements. That reach shows how AI education in the UAE is being extended beyond highly specialised technical communities. Now, students, employees, entrepreneurs and other participants are increasingly being encouraged to develop enough AI literacy. Thus, they can use emerging tools responsibly and effectively.

AI Education in the UAE Is Moving Beyond Coding

One of the clearest themes from the UAE AI Camp is that AI education is no longer only about learning programming languages or building machine learning models. The programme included cybersecurity, compliance, productivity, content creation, AI assistants and business workflows alongside more technical topics. This broader approach reflects how artificial intelligence is entering jobs that may not traditionally be considered technology roles. For example, a marketing professional may use AI for campaign planning. Meanwhile, a project manager may use it to organise tasks, while a student may use AI to support research and learning. Understanding where these tools help and where human verification remains necessary is becoming an important skill on its own.

Cybersecurity and Responsible AI Use Remain Important Themes

The camp also addressed cybersecurity and digital safety as AI tools become more widely used. Sessions related to fraud detection, password protection and responsible digital behaviour highlighted some of the risks that can accompany rapid adoption. These issues are increasingly important as people share more information with AI platforms. In addition, businesses integrate automated tools into internal systems. Teaching users how to recognise potential risks is becoming just as important as showing them how to use AI features.

UAE Continues Building a Broader AI Talent Pipeline

The conclusion of the eighth UAE AI Camp reinforces the country’s wider effort to build an AI-ready workforce and society. The UAE has continued to invest in digital skills, coding programmes, artificial intelligence infrastructure and technology-driven economic initiatives. Programmes such as the UAE AI Camp support that strategy by introducing participants to tools and concepts. They may later encounter these in universities, companies, government agencies or their own businesses.

The long-term challenge is not simply producing more AI engineers. The country also needs managers, students, entrepreneurs and public sector employees who understand how artificial intelligence works well enough to use it productively and responsibly. As agentic AI and more autonomous systems begin moving into real workplaces, that broader level of AI literacy may become increasingly important.

What the Eighth UAE AI Camp Signals for AI Adoption

The eighth edition shows that the UAE’s approach to AI education is becoming increasingly practical. There is still room for technical learning, but the focus is widening toward actual adoption, cybersecurity, workplace integration and real-world problem-solving. This matters because artificial intelligence is no longer confined to research laboratories or large technology companies.

The next phase of AI adoption will depend heavily on whether ordinary users understand how to work with these systems. Programmes such as the UAE AI Camp are attempting to build that familiarity early. At the same time, they give participants a clearer view of both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with artificial intelligence.
