East Africa is set to host one of Africa’s most impactful artificial intelligence and technology events. Specifically, AI Everything Kenya x GITEX Kenya 2026 is scheduled to take place in Nairobi from May 19 to 21, 2026. The global event is expected to bring together top tech leaders, startups, investors, policymakers, and businesses from across the globe. Consequently, the gathering aims to accelerate the adoption of AI and digital transformation across Africa.

Held in collaboration with GITEX GLOBAL and Dubai World Trade Centre, the summit is being positioned as Africa’s largest public-private AI event. It also highlights the expanding partnership between Africa and the UAE in technology innovation and digital economy advancement.

Nairobi to Welcome Africa’s Largest AI Gathering

The event will span three days across two major venues in Nairobi. The Inclusive AI Everything Summit is scheduled for May 19 at the Sarit Expo Centre. Meanwhile, the AI Everything Kenya Expo will take place from May 20 to 21 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

Organizers expect the summit to attract:

    • Over 15,000 participants
    • Delegates from 75+ countries
    • Over 500 startups and enterprises
    • Over 100 investors and venture capital firms
    • Over 150 international speakers and technology experts

The exhibition and conference sessions will cover topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, agritech, cloud computing, Industry 4.0, digital healthcare, green technology, and smart mobility.

    UAE-Africa Technology Partnerships Gaining Momentum

AI Everything Kenya is a testament to the growing impact of UAE-backed technology initiatives to support digital growth across emerging economies. Additionally, Dubai World Trade Centre and GITEX GLOBAL continue to grow internationally through events connecting governments, innovators, investors and technology companies.

The summit is an opportunity for businesses with operations in UAE free zones to build new investment partnerships and expand regionally. In addition, these businesses can collaborate with startups and grow their business through AI across East Africa.

The event is also anticipated to serve as an entry point for UAE technology companies into Africa’s burgeoning digital economy. Notably, this sector continues to attract growing amounts of global investment and innovation.

Championing Inclusive AI and Digital Development

One of the key themes of AI Everything Kenya 2026 is “Driving Inclusivity in the Global AI Race,” and the theme focuses on ensuring that African countries are active players. As a result, Africa is shaping the future of AI and emerging technologies.

    The event will feature:

    • AI readiness workshops
    • Hackathons
    • Startup pitch competitions
    • Policy and regulation discussions
    • Investor networking opportunities
    • Enterprise innovation showcases

Experts and industry leaders will deliberate on topics such as ethical AI implementation, data governance, digital infrastructure, AI regulation, and sustainable innovation strategies tailored for African markets.

Great Opportunities for Startups and Investors

One of the key themes of the summit is to strengthen the startup and venture capital ecosystems. Co-located events such as North Star Kenya and GISEC Kenya are expected to bring together founders, investors, government officials and multinationals for important networking opportunities.

The event aims to speed up innovation across sectors such as fintech, agritech, healthtech, edtech, and cybersecurity. At the same time, it positions Kenya and East Africa as leading global hubs for technology and innovation.

Africa’s Growing Role in the Global AI Ecosystem

Events such as AI Everything Kenya x GITEX Kenya 2026 highlight the continued global expansion of AI adoption. They also show Africa’s growing importance in the global technology landscape.

East Africa is rapidly becoming a hotbed of AI innovation and startup proliferation. Its digital economies are growing quickly, with increasing support from global investors, tech companies and strategic partners.

The summit further strengthens the growing economic and technological ties between the Gulf region and Africa. This connection opens new avenues for collaboration, investment, and innovation-driven growth for UAE companies and free zone investors.
