Trelawny, Jamaica (May 25–27, 2026) — The Innovation With and For a Purpose (IP) Summit 2026 opened with a keynote by Dr. David Rhew, Global Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Healthcare at Microsoft, who demystified artificial intelligence and set the strategic tone for the event. He emphasized that AI is not a futuristic abstraction but a present-day force reshaping healthcare, education, finance, logistics, and creative industries. Rhew emphasized that AI is not here to replace human expertise but to augment it, enabling professionals to work smarter, faster, and with greater precision
Dr. Rhew highlighted that outdated, reactive health systems — designed for an era of scarcity — leave populations vulnerable. AI exposes these limitations and offers a pathway forward. Multi-agent systems now achieve diagnostic accuracy rates far beyond human panels, not by replacing clinicians but by augmenting their expertise. He outlined a transformative three-step model: Identification of risks before symptoms appear, Management through scalable virtual centres and risk-stratified follow-up, and Engagement that empowers patients with personalized information to drive behaviour change.
Panels moderated by Dr. Azizi Seixas reinforced the need for ethical governance and a human-AI co-pilot model, where clinicians retain responsibility for empathy, judgment, and therapeutic relationships.
A hands-on workshop led by Amos Adler showcased how AI-assisted low-code platforms can democratize digital innovation, enabling educators, clinicians, and community leaders to build solutions for treatment adherence and patient engagement.
Together, these sessions underscored that technology alone cannot fix broken systems.
