Web Summit Qatar is already gathering momentum for its 2027 edition. More than 70 global partners are confirmed months before the technology gathering returns to Doha.

Scheduled for January 31 to February 3, 2027, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), the event is expected to bring together startups, investors, technology companies, policymakers and business leaders from around the world. Artificial intelligence should once again sit prominently within that mix. In fact, AI companies will compete for enterprise customers, investment and international partnerships.

Web Summit’s official website expects the 2027 gathering to attract more than 30,000 attendees, 1,500 startups and 800 investors. This will give Doha another large international stage for emerging technology.

More Than 70 Global Partners Sign Up Early

Preparations for Web Summit Qatar 2027 are moving well ahead of the event itself. Qatar’s Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee announced that more than 70 global partners had already confirmed their participation. This indicates strong commercial interest before the full conference programme has been revealed.

Among the companies confirmed are Dell Technologies, PwC and Palo Alto Networks, according to Qatar’s Government Communications Office. Their involvement brings enterprise computing, consulting and cybersecurity into an event where AI is increasingly connected with almost every part of the technology stack.

The early partner commitments also follow a significantly larger 2026 edition. Official figures from Qatar’s Government Communications Office show that Web Summit Qatar 2026 attracted more than 30,000 attendees from 124 countries, alongside over 1,600 startups, 800 investors, 400 speakers and 180 partners.

AI Runs Through a Much Wider Technology Conversation

Web Summit Qatar isn’t strictly an artificial intelligence conference. That’s part of what makes it relevant to the AI industry.

AI companies increasingly operate inside a much bigger ecosystem. This involves cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise software, data platforms, consulting, telecommunications and investment. Web Summit’s previous Qatar partner ecosystem included major technology names such as IBM, Google, Microsoft, Scale AI, Dell Technologies and Accenture. This shows how closely AI now overlaps with the wider enterprise technology market.

For startups, that overlap creates practical opportunities. A company developing AI agents may need cloud infrastructure, enterprise integrations and security partners just as much as it needs a new model. Larger businesses, meanwhile, are looking for AI systems that can move beyond demonstrations. They want solutions that deliver measurable improvements inside existing operations.

Web Summit Qatar puts many of those conversations under one roof.

Qatar Wants Startups Connected With Global Capital

Qatar is positioning Web Summit as more than a four-day conference. The event has become part of a broader effort to connect the country’s startup ecosystem with international investors, companies and technology markets.

Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of Qatar’s Government Communications Office and chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, has highlighted efforts to turn international participation into opportunities for Qatar’s private sector. He is also focusing on the startup community.

That means attracting international companies to Doha while also giving locally based startups access to investors and overseas markets. For AI founders, those connections can be especially important because building the technology is only one part of the problem. Finding enterprise customers, securing compute resources, navigating regulation and raising enough capital to scale can be considerably harder.

International Technology Delegations Are Heading to Doha

Web Summit Qatar 2027 is also expected to bring a broad mix of international government and business delegations to the Qatari capital.

According to Gulf Times, trade delegations from the Netherlands, Germany, France, Pakistan, Bahrain, Italy, Türkiye and Palestine are expected to participate in the 2027 edition. Their presence adds another layer to an event already designed around startup investment, technology partnerships and international business development.

This matters for AI companies looking beyond their domestic markets. Artificial intelligence products may be distributed digitally, but enterprise adoption remains heavily influenced by local regulation, procurement requirements, data policies and business relationships. Meeting investors, policymakers and potential customers from several markets in one location can shorten that process considerably.

Qatar Takes Web Summit Beyond Doha

The build-up to Web Summit Qatar 2027 isn’t limited to activity inside Qatar. Organisers are taking the event into international technology hubs through the Runway to Web Summit Qatar Embassy Series, organised by the Government Communications Office in partnership with Web Summit.

The programme has included locations such as Washington, DC, Stockholm and Berlin. This creates opportunities to engage founders, investors and technology companies before the main conference begins in Doha.

It’s a different approach from simply promoting an event and waiting for attendees to arrive. Qatar is using the months before Web Summit to establish relationships with technology communities overseas. Therefore, this may widen the pool of startups, investors and companies participating in the 2027 edition.

Qatari Startups Prepare for Investor Meetings

Local startups are also being prepared for the international audience coming to Doha. Organisers are developing the Road to Web Summit Qatar bootcamp, aimed at helping selected Qatari startups sharpen their positioning before meeting investors. This initiative also readies them for participating in the wider conference.

The programme is also intended to prepare founders for potential participation in PITCH, Web Summit’s startup competition. With hundreds of startups competing for attention at major technology events, preparation can matter almost as much as exhibition space.

That is particularly true in AI. Investors are increasingly looking past broad claims about artificial intelligence and asking more specific questions about customers, revenue, deployment costs, proprietary technology and whether a product solves a problem companies will actually pay to fix.

Web Summit Qatar Keeps Getting Bigger

Web Summit Qatar only made its Doha debut in 2024, but the event has expanded quickly. By 2026, official figures showed more than 30,000 attendees, over 1,600 startups and 800 investors participating.

The startup mix also became more diverse. Qatar’s Government Communications Office reported that 47% of participating startups in 2026 were women-founded, while 190 startups represented Qatar.

For 2027, Web Summit is again preparing for more than 30,000 attendees, alongside approximately 1,500 startups and 800 investors. With more than 70 global partners already committed, much of the infrastructure for another large technology gathering is already falling into place.

AI Companies Face a More Demanding Audience

The AI conversation heading into 2027 looks different from the early generative AI boom. Simply adding an AI assistant to a product is no longer enough to stand apart in an increasingly crowded market.

Enterprise customers are paying closer attention to deployment costs, cybersecurity, data governance, integration and measurable returns. Investors are asking whether AI startups can build defensible businesses around technology that changes rapidly. Governments, meanwhile, are trying to encourage AI investment without ignoring questions around regulation, data and security.

Those competing priorities should make Web Summit Qatar an interesting meeting point. The event brings startups searching for capital into the same environment as enterprises looking for usable technology. Meanwhile, investors will be searching for scalable companies and governments trying to attract the next wave of digital investment.

Web Summit Qatar 2027 Returns January 31

Web Summit Qatar 2027 will take place from January 31 to February 3, 2027, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center in Doha. Organisers expect more than 30,000 attendees, approximately 1,500 startups and over 800 investors to participate.

More than 70 global partners have already committed to the event. International delegations and startup programmes are being developed well ahead of opening day.

For the AI sector, Doha offers something increasingly valuable: a place where the technology conversation doesn’t happen in isolation. AI startups, infrastructure providers, cybersecurity companies, investors, enterprises and governments will all be dealing with different pieces of the same question. Specifically, they will focus on how artificial intelligence moves from rapid experimentation into businesses and systems that actually work at scale.
