    Key Takeaways

    • Samsung and NVIDIA tested AI-native software-driven networks using vRAN technology, validating an AI-RAN configuration.
    • The system features AI-based MIMO beamforming, enhancing downlink performance and spectral efficiency.
    • Samsung integrated its vRAN software with NVIDIA’s ARC Compact system, enabling high-speed data exchange for optimization.
    • The development aims for commercial expansion of AI-native software-driven networks, enhancing 5G telecom infrastructure.
    • Further assessments and testing are planned to improve deployment readiness of these advanced networks.

Samsung AI-native software-driven networks have progressed through a joint effort with NVIDIA. Samsung Electronics completed a multi-cell test integrating its virtualized Radio Access Network (vRAN) software with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform. The testing took place at Samsung’s research and development center. The setup replicated near real-world network conditions. The milestone supports future commercial deployment of AI-enhanced networks.

Samsung AI-Native Software-Driven Networks Tested With AI-RAN Technology

The companies validated an AI-RAN configuration using Samsung’s vRAN software and NVIDIA AI infrastructure. The system included an AI-based MIMO beamforming feature. This technology improves downlink performance. It increases spectral efficiency by optimizing signal transmission. The demonstration is scheduled to be presented at Mobile World Congress 2026.

Samsung’s vRAN software operates on a cloud-based architecture. The structure supports AI-native network functions. The collaboration aims to strengthen Samsung AI-native software-driven networks for next-generation telecommunications.

NVIDIA Integration Strengthens Samsung AI-Native Software-Driven Networks

Samsung integrated its vRAN software with NVIDIA’s ARC Compact system. The platform includes NVIDIA’s Grace CPU and L4 GPU. The companies are also working on CPU and GPU integration using NVIDIA’s unified processor architecture. This approach enables high-speed data exchange between components. It supports performance optimization while maintaining operational efficiency.

The integration allows AI workloads to run directly within the network infrastructure.

Commercial Expansion of Samsung AI-Native Software-Driven Networks

Samsung stated that this development builds on its experience with commercial vRAN deployments. The company provides 5G end-to-end solutions. These include purpose-built RAN, vRAN, Open RAN, AI-RAN technologies, cloud-native core solutions, private networks, and automation tools.

Samsung AI-native software-driven networks are part of its broader strategy to expand AI capabilities across telecom infrastructure. Further assessments and testing phases are planned to advance deployment readiness.
