British Prime Minister Keir Starmer inaugurated the UK’s first Google-funded AI Campus in Camden, London, marking a significant step in fostering AI education and innovation among young people. The initiative, backed by Google and its AI subsidiary DeepMind, aims to equip the next generation with critical skills in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Situated in Camden, a constituency represented by Starmer and the future home of Google’s headquarters at Kings Cross, the campus has already launched a two-year pilot program. The inaugural cohort consists of 32 students aged 16 to 18, who will have access to state-of-the-art resources, personalized mentorship, and expert training from DeepMind professionals.
This initiative reflects Google’s commitment to nurturing AI talent and ensuring accessibility to cutting-edge technology education. The campus is designed to provide not only technical knowledge but also practical experience, empowering young learners to contribute to the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
