Tourism Fiji is experimenting with a different way to sell the islands to Chinese travelers. This time, artificial intelligence sits behind the storytelling, and the new initiative involves Tourism Fiji Baidu Wenku AI to reach this market in innovative ways.

The tourism organization has partnered with Baidu Wenku to create AI-powered travel guides and animated content. The campaign focuses on five sides of Fiji: adventure, cuisine, culture, nature, and wellness.

It is not simply about generating another digital brochure. AI is helping turn destination information into visual stories made for Chinese digital platforms.

Fiji Is Turning Traditional Travel Guides Into AI Content

Travel guides usually begin with pages of text and destination photos. Tourism Fiji and Baidu Wenku are taking another route. They are using AI to transform tourism information into presentations and animated videos. Baidu Wenku’s tools assist with layouts, visual design, and animation scripts. This lets the campaign move from raw destination information to finished digital content much faster.

Five Different Sides of Fiji Shape the Campaign

The campaign does not try to squeeze Fiji into one travel message. Instead, it works around five themes: adventure, cuisine, culture, natural landscapes, and wellness. Each gives travelers another reason to consider the islands. Someone interested in food may see a different Fiji from someone looking for diving or relaxation. AI makes it easier to reshape those stories without rebuilding the entire campaign each time.

Baidu Wenku’s Office Agent Does Much of the Heavy Lifting

Baidu Wenku has evolved beyond its roots as an online document and knowledge platform. Its newer AI tools support content creation and office automation. The platform’s Office Agent can help generate presentations and organize professional layouts. It can also assist with scripts for animated content. Tourism Fiji is using those capabilities to package destination information for digital audiences in China.

A Manta Ray Becomes Fiji’s Digital Tour Guide

The campaign has an unusual lead character: a manta ray. It guides viewers through Fiji’s oceans, tropical islands, and local communities. Along the way, the videos introduce different travel experiences. The format feels less like a standard tourism advertisement and more like a short digital journey. That matters on platforms where viewers can swipe away within seconds.

The Videos Are Already Reaching Chinese Audiences

Tourism Fiji has published the animated content through its official Douyin and WeChat Channels accounts. Early numbers suggest people are paying attention. The videos have recorded more than 52,000 views across the two platforms. They have also generated close to 30,000 interactions, according to reports on the campaign. Those numbers do not automatically translate into bookings. Still, they offer an early sign that the format can attract engagement.

Short-Form Video Is Becoming Part of Travel Planning

Travel inspiration increasingly starts with a phone screen. That is particularly important when targeting younger travelers. Short videos can introduce a destination before someone actively begins searching for flights or hotels. Tourism Fiji wants to enter that early stage of the journey. AI helps produce content suited to those quick discovery moments. The campaign can then turn destination information into something easier to watch and share.

China Needs More Than a Translated Tourism Campaign

Reaching Chinese travelers is not simply a matter of translating an English advertisement. The country’s digital ecosystem has its own platforms and habits. Travelers often move between social content, travel inspiration, planning tools, and booking services. Working with Baidu Wenku gives Tourism Fiji access to technology built inside that environment. It also provides knowledge of how Chinese digital audiences consume information.

Tourism Fiji Has Already Been Experimenting With Travel AI

The Baidu Wenku partnership is not Tourism Fiji’s first move into artificial intelligence. Earlier in 2026, it partnered with Douyin Travel on an AI-powered Fiji travel planner. Users can interact with Fiji videos and open a conversational planning experience. The AI then suggests attractions and builds itineraries around their interests. Tourism Fiji described that initiative as a pilot in AI-driven travel planning.

Fiji’s Wider AI Tourism Strategy Is Starting to Take Shape

Those projects are beginning to look less like isolated experiments. Tourism Fiji recently received a PATA Gold Award for its use of emerging technology in marketing. Its broader China strategy also includes partnerships with TikTok and Alibaba’s Fliggy. Tourism Fiji says its AI marketing ecosystem has generated more than 500 million TikTok impressions. It also reported a 15% conversion rate from trip planning to bookings.

AI Could Let Tourism Campaigns Produce More Stories With the Same Material

This is where the Baidu Wenku project becomes interesting beyond Fiji. Tourism boards already have huge libraries of destination information. The problem is turning that material into content for different audiences and platforms. AI can speed up that process. One destination could produce stories around food, wellness, nature, families, or adventure without starting from zero each time.

That does not mean AI should invent what makes a destination special. The better role is almost the opposite. It can take real places and experiences, then package them in more useful formats. Tourism Fiji appears to be testing exactly that idea.

For travelers, the result may be more personalized destination content. For tourism marketers, it could mean much faster production. And for Fiji, the immediate goal is simple: make the islands easier for Chinese travelers to discover, imagine, and eventually visit.
