Dubai, United Arab Emirates — For the first time in history, Syria has joined GITEX Global 2025, the world’s largest technology exhibition, with a powerful and symbolic debut titled “Syria Is Online.”
The Syrian Pavilion stands as a testament to the nation’s digital reawakening, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering determination to reconnect with the global technology community.

🌍 A Digital Reconnection with the World

The “Syria Is Online” Pavilion serves as both a tech showcase and a statement of identity — an affirmation that Syrian innovators, despite years of economic and infrastructural hardship, are once again ready to build, connect, and compete on the international stage.

Located at the heart of the Dubai World Trade Centre, the Pavilion unites the efforts of SYNC, Buildup Brand Experience, and the US-Syria Business Council (USSYBC), supported by prominent Syrian business leaders and members of the diaspora.

“This is more than an exhibition — it is a message to the world,” said Basil Yassin Ojjeh, Co-founder of SYNC.
“Syrian minds are here to innovate, to inspire, and to rebuild a future where technology becomes our bridge back to global collaboration.”

💡 Showcasing Innovation, Talent, and Tenacity

The Syrian Pavilion features cutting-edge projects developed by Syrian engineers, developers, and entrepreneurs — spanning AI solutions, software systems, IoT frameworks, and digital services.

Each exhibit tells a story of perseverance and ingenuity: products and ideas created in challenging environments yet capable of standing alongside global innovations.

Ziad Ghaloul, CEO of Buildup Brand Experience, described the Pavilion as a “digital alphabet for Syrian creativity.”

“We are giving Syria a new digital language — one that expresses our potential, resilience, and our readiness to engage with the future.”

🤝 Government Endorsement and Global Recognition

Abdul Salam Haykal, Syria’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, visited the Pavilion and hailed it as a “national milestone.”
He praised the collaboration between public institutions and private innovators, calling it a model for how Syrian technology can integrate with international ecosystems.

His presence at GITEX highlighted the Syrian government’s growing focus on digital transformation as a pillar of economic recovery, emphasizing technology as both a strategic sector and a source of hope for future generations.

🌐 Connecting Syrian Talent with Global Opportunity

The “Syria Is Online” initiative is designed not only to promote innovation but also to reconnect the Syrian tech diaspora — linking thousands of skilled professionals across the Middle East, Europe, and North America.

Through GITEX 2025, the Pavilion acts as a bridge for collaboration and investment, inviting:

    • International companies to explore partnerships with Syrian tech firms.
    • Investors to engage in the nation’s emerging digital economy.
    • Global media to rediscover Syria’s talent narrative beyond conflict and crisis.

This first participation at GITEX is expected to catalyze new cross-border partnerships and attract renewed interest in the country’s software, AI, and IT development potential.

🔭 A Symbol of Digital Sovereignty and Renewal

Syria’s debut aligns with the wider MENA digital renaissance showcased at GITEX Global 2025.
The Pavilion’s message — “Syria Is Online” — echoes a collective regional pursuit of digital sovereignty, knowledge economy, and technological independence.

For Syria, this moment is deeply symbolic:
It marks the beginning of a new chapter, where innovation replaces isolation, and where technology becomes a tool for reconnection, empowerment, and reconstruction.

“When the world sees Syria at GITEX, they see possibility,” said one Pavilion representative.
“We are not here to look back — we are here to plug in to the future.”
