Legaline Launches MENA’s First AI-Powered Courtroom Simulator at Dubai AI Festival 2026

UAE-based Legaline Platform has introduced Meta Legal Space, an AI-powered courtroom simulator designed to help law students and aspiring lawyers gain practical experience before handling real cases.

Unveiled at the Dubai AI Festival 2026, held on October 26–27 at Dubai World Trade Centre, the platform offers what Legaline describes as the Middle East and North Africa’s first AI-powered mock trial environment.

Instead of following predictable courtroom scripts, students can practise presenting arguments, questioning witnesses and responding to objections in a virtual setting where artificial intelligence controls several courtroom participants.

The goal is to make courtroom training more accessible while allowing future legal professionals to develop their skills without risking the outcome of an actual client’s case.

AI Judges and Virtual Witnesses Create Realistic Courtroom Experiences

Legal education often focuses heavily on understanding legislation, interpreting cases and developing legal arguments. But standing before a judge and questioning an unpredictable witness requires a different set of skills.

Meta Legal Space attempts to address that challenge through a virtual courtroom featuring an AI judge, clerk, witnesses and expert participants. Students can face an AI-powered opposing lawyer or compete against another trainee during simulated proceedings.

The experience moves beyond traditional scripted mock trials. Each virtual witness has a specific professional background, personality and behavioural characteristics that influence their responses during questioning.

Some witnesses may remain composed under pressure, while others could become less reliable as questioning becomes more challenging. Each witness also withholds a particular fact that students must uncover through effective examination.

These interactions are designed to remain consistent with the case materials, encouraging trainees to analyse evidence carefully rather than rely entirely on prepared questions.

Dmitry Grinik, Founder and CEO of Legaline Platform, has highlighted the importance of allowing aspiring lawyers to make mistakes during training instead of learning difficult lessons while representing real clients.

Legaline Introduces AI Training Across UAE, DIFC and ADGM Courts

The AI-powered courtroom simulator accommodates different legal procedures and jurisdictions, reflecting the UAE’s diverse legal environment.

Before entering a virtual hearing, participants can choose between litigation, arbitration and mediation. They can also select legal frameworks covering UAE onshore courts, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

Legaline says practising lawyers develop the training scenarios rather than relying on automatically generated case templates. Each exercise comes with a difficulty rating and estimated duration, allowing instructors to select cases appropriate for different levels of legal experience.

The initial library includes commercial, civil and labour disputes. One scenario involves a breached supply agreement where students must examine witness testimony and expert findings to determine whether claims involving delays and damages are justified.

Another case focuses on construction defects, requiring participants to assess documentary evidence and expert opinions. A separate employment dispute places students before a simulated DIFC Small Claims Tribunal to examine an unfair dismissal claim.

By covering different legal settings, Meta Legal Space aims to prepare students for the procedural challenges they may encounter throughout their careers.

AI Performance Reports Help Students Improve Legal Skills

Practising courtroom arguments is valuable, but understanding how well those arguments were presented can make the training more useful.

After each simulated hearing, Meta Legal Space generates a performance report evaluating a trainee’s argumentation, procedural compliance and ability to respond to objections.

The platform also features a leaderboard where students can compare their results with other participants, introducing a competitive element into the learning experience.

Legaline has included an option for licensed legal practitioners from its professional network to participate directly. These professionals can take the judge’s position during a simulated hearing and assess student performance in real time.

This approach allows law schools to combine automated feedback with human supervision, while individual students can practise independently whenever they need additional preparation.

However, AI-generated assessments cannot fully reproduce the judgment of experienced legal professionals. The accuracy of the simulator’s feedback and its ability to reflect real courtroom complexities will remain important factors in determining its educational value.

Meta Legal Space Expands Legaline’s AI Legal Technology Ecosystem

The courtroom simulator represents another step in Legaline Platform’s effort to integrate artificial intelligence into legal services and professional development.

The company already offers several AI-enabled tools designed to support legal research, document preparation and legal education.

Its Baby Legal Bot functions as an AI tutor that helps users explore legal concepts and unfamiliar areas of law. Meanwhile, Legaline’s AI Research Assistant supports legal research and case preparation across 35 legal areas.

Another product, Legaline Docs, helps lawyers prepare draft contracts, legal letters and pleadings for professional review.

Meta Legal Space takes these capabilities in a different direction by focusing on practical courtroom experience rather than primarily assisting with legal paperwork.

The simulator also reflects a growing interest in using AI to develop professional skills through interactive training environments.

For Legaline, the launch creates an opportunity to connect its existing legal technology tools with educational institutions and the next generation of legal practitioners.

Dubai AI Festival Showcases the Growing Role of AI in Legal Education

Legaline’s announcement comes as Dubai continues strengthening its position as a regional centre for artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

The Dubai AI Festival 2026, organised by Dubai AI Campus at DIFC, brings together policymakers, technology companies, investors and industry leaders to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming business and society.

The event’s programme covers AI governance, enterprise transformation, emerging technologies and practical applications across different industries.

Legal technology is becoming one of those areas where AI is moving beyond routine automation. While AI-powered tools already assist with contract analysis, legal research and document drafting, courtroom simulation introduces another application focused on professional training.

For law schools, organising traditional mock trials can require considerable time and coordination, particularly when experienced lawyers, judges and witnesses need to participate.

Virtual simulations could provide additional opportunities for students to rehearse hearings, practise cross-examination and become familiar with courtroom procedures.

Whether these tools can consistently improve real-world advocacy skills will depend on their accuracy, the quality of their training materials and the involvement of qualified legal educators.

Legaline Offers Free Access to AI Courtroom Training

Legaline is making Meta Legal Space available to law schools and legal training providers across the Middle East and North Africa.

Students can create a Legaline Platform account free of charge and select a case to begin their courtroom training.

The simulator supports both supervised classroom exercises and private practice, allowing trainees to develop their skills at their own pace.

Additional training scenarios are expected as more legal practitioners contribute materials to the platform.

For aspiring lawyers, the appeal is simple. They can experience the pressure of questioning witnesses, responding to objections and defending legal arguments before entering an actual courtroom.

AI cannot replace the experience of representing a client before a real judge. But it may provide something that traditional legal education cannot always offer: repeated opportunities to practise, make mistakes and improve without putting a client’s interests at risk.

With Meta Legal Space, Legaline is testing how far that approach can go.
