    The 18th Qatar Robotics & AI Competition began on 15 February 2026 in Doha, Qatar. The 18th Qatar Robotics & AI Competition is organised by the Ministry of Sports and Youth through the Qatar Scientific Club. The event is held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and supported by the Social & Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM). Activities take place at Lusail Multipurpose Hall over two days.

    The opening ceremony was attended by HE Yasir bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, along with ministry officials and department directors.


    Participation and Categories at the 18th Qatar Robotics & AI Competition

    The 18th Qatar Robotics & AI Competition includes approximately 2,500 students from public and private schools across Qatar. Around 250 schools are represented. The event also involves about 100 judges and more than 100 trainers.

    The competition features 18 different categories. Students compete in robotics design, programming, and artificial intelligence challenges. Preliminary rounds were conducted on the first day. Participants work in teams to complete technical tasks and simulation exercises.

    This edition introduces cybersecurity challenges as part of the competition structure. Several contests were updated. Rules and game formats were revised for 2026.


    Objectives and International Representation from the 18th Qatar Robotics & AI Competition

    The 18th Qatar Robotics & AI Competition aims to strengthen youth capabilities in robotics and AI. The initiative supports scientific development and technical skill building. It aligns with Qatar’s National Youth Policy in innovation and education.

    Fawaz Abdullah Al Musaifri, Director of the Youth Affairs Department, confirmed the ministry’s continued support for the event. Fatima Al Mohannadi, Head of the Technical, Scientific, and Judging Committee, outlined participation figures and competition structure.

    Winners of the 18th Qatar Robotics & AI Competition will be nominated to represent Qatar in Arab and international robotics and AI competitions.
