Kardome unveils on-device voice AI for context-aware interactions

Kardome announced the launch of a new voice artificial intelligence technology called Cognition AI on January 5, 2026. The company is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. The product is designed to improve voice interaction across cars, homes and workplaces.

The company says existing voice systems often fail in noisy or complex environments. Cognition AI is built to function in those settings. It allows devices to recognize who is speaking and understand user intent. The system does not rely on fixed voice commands. It also does not require continuous cloud connectivity.

Cognition AI works alongside Kardome’s Spatial Hearing AI. Together, they form the core of Kardome’s next generation on-device voice solutions. Target platforms include vehicles, smart home devices, televisions and robotics systems. The technology is designed to support more natural and responsive voice interaction.

The system processes most voice input directly on the device. Kardome describes Cognition AI as a small language model modeled after human auditory cognition. It interprets speech, intent and context in real time. Simple tasks are completed locally. Cloud-based large language models are only activated for more complex reasoning.

Kardome says this hybrid structure improves speed and reliability. It also limits data transfer, which supports user privacy. The company positions on-device processing as critical for real-world voice adoption.

CEO Dani Cherkassky said widespread use of AI devices depends on continuous listening and contextual understanding. He said this processing must occur on the device itself. He added that Cognition AI supports intent-aware voice interfaces even in loud or multi-speaker environments.

Cognition AI and Spatial Hearing AI together provide several technical functions. These include three-dimensional sound localization, speaker identification and real-time separation of multiple voices. The system also supports context-based interaction rather than command-based input.

Kardome says this combination creates a full-stack voice AI platform. The company describes the result as voice-first products designed to respond more like human conversation. The system is intended to reduce delays, improve accuracy and function across varied environments.

The announcement positions Cognition AI as a shift away from cloud-heavy voice systems. Kardome says the technology allows devices to operate independently while still accessing cloud resources when required. The company frames this as a step toward broader adoption of voice interfaces in everyday products.

Cognition AI empowers systems to understand who is speaking and their intent, without relying on rigid commands or constant cloud connectivity.
