An AI-powered hiring platform was presented by Emirates Health Services (EHS) at the World Health Expo in Dubai. The system is designed to manage healthcare recruitment without traditional human resource screening. Job applicants interact directly with artificial intelligence instead of recruiters during the early stages of hiring.
The AI-powered hiring platform targets nurses and other healthcare professionals. It is intended to simplify recruitment for EHS, which operates 134 hospitals and medical centers across the UAE.
How the AI-Powered Hiring Platform Screens Candidates
Applicants begin by uploading their CVs in any format, including scanned documents or images. After submission, the AI-powered hiring platform contacts candidates through WhatsApp to continue the process. The system verifies identity documents and professional credentials automatically.
Candidates then complete a two-way AI video interview lasting approximately 30 minutes. The AI adjusts its questions based on the role, specialization, and experience level of each applicant. Clinical scenarios are included to assess practical knowledge.
AI Interviews, Fraud Detection, and Shortlisting
The AI-powered hiring platform evaluates interview responses and flags inconsistencies in documentation. It is also designed to detect forged certificates or inaccurate information. Only candidates who meet the platform’s assessment criteria are shortlisted.
In a recent pilot program, the system conducted around 450 AI interviews. From those interviews, six candidates were shortlisted. All six were hired following final human review.
Human recruiters remain involved in later stages. They perform additional verification, including university checks and reference validation, before issuing employment offers.
Expansion Beyond Hiring and Career Development Tools
The AI-powered hiring platform was developed in partnership with TERN Group. Beyond recruitment, the system also supports AI-based career planning. These tools provide guidance on professional development, leadership readiness, and long-term career progression for nurses.
Applicants can complete the entire hiring process remotely. No recruitment agencies or in-person interviews are required during initial stages. The platform allows international candidates to apply without traveling to the UAE.
The initiative represents a large-scale deployment of artificial intelligence in healthcare recruitment within the country.
