If you’ve ever wondered what else AI can do, well, it can create some unique recipes for you, and we are not even kidding. Now, Samsung has come up with a rather unique idea of showcasing Galaxy AI’s power at its new pop-up restaurant in Portugal.
Galaxy AI will prepare a recipe for your next dish in Samsung’s ‘Sem Iuala’ restaurant
Samsung’s soon-to-open AI pop-up restaurant is called Sem Igual—machine translated as “Without Equal” or “Unique.” If you are already curious to know how things work at this Galaxy AI-powered Samsung restaurant, here are some details.
Diners at Sem Igual will get Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25 at their table to photograph their desired ingredients. They can select from one source of carbohydrate, protein, three vegetables, and a sauce.
In comes the power of Galaxy AI; it will then use the photos shared by diners to create a one-of-a-kind recipe from the selected ingredients. Next, the AI-generated recipe will head to the kitchen, where Chef João Dourado will prepare it.
Samsung Portugal even released a promo video for the AI pop-up restaurant, which you can check out below. The translated outro of the video says that the Sem Igual restaurant doesn’t serve the same dishes. Notably, diners will be able to choose from a total of 25 ingredients, resulting in thousands of possible dishes.
The restaurant will only be open for two days
EuroWeekly reports that Samsung’s pop-up AI restaurant will be free to experience, but will be open for just two days, May 8 and 9, in Lisbon. Another Sem Igual AI restaurant will open in Porto on May 16 and 17. All that said, AI can’t cook just yet, so it’s still one of the tasks left for humans.
