Youth, professionals, and the workforce are being increasingly equipped with digital skills that thrive in the ever-increasingly competitive global landscape, the Malaysian ambassador said in a keynote address at the AI-Powered Digital Tech Talk workshop.
AI-Powered Digital Tech Talk workshop was conducted on Friday by Malaysian-founded Digital Marketing Consultancy (DMC) to equip youth, professionals and the workforce with the digital skills needed to thrive in the ever-increasingly competitive global landscape.
The main speaker was Charles Struart Gregory, the founder of DMC. As a renowned AI & Digital Transformation expert, he touched on the potential of AI technology in Cambodia and how young people can utilise them in learning and developing their careers.
The workshop was presided by Soeu Try, Deputy Secretary General of National Committee for Lifelong Learning from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MOEYS) and Shaharuddin Onn, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia, whose presence reaffirmed the critical role of cross-border collaboration in developing Cambodia’s digital workforce.

During his speech the ambassador stated that AI has evolved from a trendy term to a force for social change in the fields of business, education, healthcare, and government. He noted that AI is transforming the global landscape and is influencing people’s livelihoods.
He stated that Malaysia has long prioritised digital innovation through frameworks like MyDIGITAL and the National AI Roadmap, focused on preparing its economy and citizens for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Ambassador Shaharuddin also praised Cambodia for its digital journey which is changing the country and its people.
“AI is not merely recognised as a technological advancement but as a strategic tool to enhance our education system, drive economic growth, and improve public services,” he noted.
He encouraged the workshop’s young participants to embrace the opportunities that AI presents, but to do so with a sense of purpose and ethical consideration. He also urged educators, industry leaders, and policy makers to collaborate for creating an ecosystem that supports innovation while safeguarding the cultural and societal values.
AI-Powered Digital Tech Talk workshop was attended by around 200 participants with the purpose of raising awareness of AI’s practical uses in business, marketing, education, and productivity and equip students and young professionals with insights into future job requirements and emerging technologies.
The workshop also encourages digital innovation across public, private, and academic sectors and promotes Al adoption as a tool for national competitiveness.
