Reddit has published a new research paper that explores the challenges of AI adoption, and the effective utilization of AI by marketers, based on insights from its community.
The 21-page report, published in partnership with GroupM and WPP, provides insight into the key challenges of broader AI acceptance, based on Reddit community insights. In other words, how to make best use of AI in your marketing outreach, without turning your audience off.
Which is a concern, because while the latest wave of AI tools enable a range of new functionalities, some people don’t like the artificiality of AI images and depictions, for example. As such, they can actually be a negative when used without adequate consideration.
So what do you need to consider?
You can download the full report here (with email sign-up), but in this post, we’ll take a look at some of the key notes.
First off, the report looks at how consumers view AI, and the benefits of the latest AI tools:

As you can see, the data highlights both the positives and negatives of AI tools, in varying context. AI tools, for example, are helping to streamline mundane tasks, but consumers remain wary of the security implications of sharing their data with these systems, while AI tools can also feel intrusive, and can be influenced by outside forces.
The latter feels like a more Reddit-aligned talking point than a general public note, but there are clear issues with the way in which AI tools are being developed by the tech giants, and how that then relates to the partiality of their responses.
These are key barriers that the AI providers, and the companies looking to work with them, need to overcome in order to offer more assurance, and maximize usage.

The report also looks at the more philosophical questions around AI, and how they can impact adoption.

These are some interesting, and informed notes, which could help you develop a better understanding of the key hesitations in AI adoption, and how you can ensure broader take-up of your own AI tools.
And many companies are now looking to integrate AI elements. The latest AI wave has prompted many brands to consider how they can use these tools to benefit their customers, and as such, these are some good notes and insights to consider in your approach.
Essentially, utility conquers all, but ensuring that you cover all the key bases is critical for optimal take-up.
