At just 17 years old, Lucas Spusta, Developer & Co-Founder of Lumasof, is already making waves in the AI and enterprise software space. Speaking at Web Summit Qatar 2025, Spusta shared his journey from self-taught programmer at age seven to successful startup founder, and how his company is creating cost-effective AI solutions that challenge industry giants.
Building Lumasof: From Freelance to Enterprise Solutions
Spusta’s entrepreneurial story began out of necessity. At 12 years old, he realized that companies wouldn’t hire him due to his age. Instead, with his father’s help, he founded his own LLC, a software development agency that quickly grew to serve multiple clients.
“We built a successful business developing software for clients, but about six months ago, we pivoted—we dropped most of our smaller clients and focused on building our own products and competing with industry leaders. We’ve been thriving ever since.”
Disrupting the AI Customer Support Industry
One of Lumasof’s flagship products is uclone.me, a direct competitor to Intercom. Spusta and his team identified a major gap in the AI-powered customer service industry—high operational costs.
“Intercom charges 99 cents per AI response, which is an insane amount for companies handling large support ticket volumes,” Spusta explained. “So we built uclone.me, a far more affordable and scalable alternative, helping startups and businesses maintain legitimate and responsive support systems without breaking the bank.”
Since launching at Web Summit Qatar 2025, every entrepreneur Spusta spoke to has signed up for the platform, validating the demand for cost-effective AI-powered support solutions.
Expanding into Enterprise Voice AI
With one successful AI product already gaining traction, Lumasof’s next big venture is focused on Voice AI agents for enterprise.
“Right now, businesses have limited choices for voice AI solutions, and most of them aren’t tailored specifically for enterprise needs. Having worked with large corporations, I know exactly what they require, and that’s what we’re building next.”
Why Web Summit Qatar?
Despite his young age, Spusta understands the power of networking and global expansion. He traveled from the United States to Qatar to connect with investors, entrepreneurs, and tech leaders at Web Summit.
“Innovation in the Middle East is booming, and the networking opportunities here are incredible. I didn’t even attend as a startup exhibitor—just as a regular attendee—and I’ve already met amazing people who I’ll stay connected with for years.”
Lessons for Young Entrepreneurs
When asked about advice for his seven-year-old self, Spusta emphasized the importance of persistence and simplicity:
“Don’t stop. Most people overthink the process of starting a business. The secret is keeping things simple. I recommend reading The Simplicity of Apple by Tim Cook—that philosophy has guided all of my businesses and helped me outperform larger competitors.”
Looking Ahead: The Future of Lumasof
With multiple AI-driven products already in the market and enterprise-grade voice AI on the way, Lumasof is on a rapid growth trajectory. Spusta’s success at Web Summit Qatar highlights the potential of young entrepreneurs to disrupt industries and build scalable, impactful tech solutions.
As Spusta summed it up: “Keep your business simple, and success will follow.”
