MCIT prepares for Web Summit Qatar 2025

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is preparing to participate in Web Summit Qatar 2025, being held from February 23-26 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.

MCIT will showcase three of its key programmes supporting digital entrepreneurship and startups: the Digital Incubation Centre, the Tasmu Accelerator, and the recently launched Scale Now programme. Additionally, 48 incubated startups will present their digital solutions to summit visitors, with 16 startups showcasing their innovations daily.

The summit will also feature four Masterclasses that explore the latest trends in technology and entrepreneurship. These sessions will include discussions on the MCIT’s Digital Skills Framework, which highlights the importance of standardising digital skills in Qatar and their role in workforce development and professional advancement. Another session, “Role of AI and IoT in Enhancing Human Life”, will examine how artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things are being leveraged to develop smart cities, improve healthcare, and enhance quality of life. Additionally, the “AI: Saviour or Saboteur? Navigating AI’s Perils and Promises” session will delve into the ongoing debate on the opportunities and challenges of AI, focusing on its ethical and security implications. The Masterclass series will conclude with “Enabling Innovation: Qatar’s Thriving Startup Ecosystem”, which will explore global best practices in entrepreneurship, fundraising strategies, and scaling opportunities for startups in Qatar.

The summit will witness the announcement of a new partnership with a global Artificial Intelligence company aimed at fostering AI-driven innovation in key government sectors. This partnership seeks to integrate AI technologies into government functions to enhance decision-making efficiency and drive innovation in sectors such as transportation, education, healthcare, commerce, and tourism.

MCIT in partnership with Hamad Bin Khalifa University will launch “Fanar” mobile application. The app will allow users to interact with advanced Arabic-language AI models, contributing to the growth of Arabic digital content.

As part of its engagement at the summit, MCIT will participate in high-level panel discussions featuring industry experts. Eman al-Kuwari, director of Digital Innovation at MCIT, will take part in a session titled “From the Caucasus to the Gulf: A New Hub for Digital Excellence.”
