Abu Dhabi’s AI Ambitions Shine at GITEX Global with Hackathon and Cutting-Edge Projects

Abu Dhabi made waves at GITEX Global 2024, showcasing its forward-thinking AI initiatives and commitment to innovation. The Department of Government Enablement (DGE) launched a four-day elite cyber hackathon to identify the UAE’s top cyber talent, bringing together the brightest minds to tackle complex challenges in cybersecurity. The hackathon reflects Abu Dhabi’s focus on bolstering its digital security capabilities while nurturing homegrown talent.

In addition to the hackathon, Abu Dhabi unveiled several other groundbreaking projects. DGE introduced GovGPT, an AI-powered platform designed to streamline government operations and enhance service delivery. The Bayaan platform, launched by the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD), uses AI to provide real-time insights and data analytics, driving better decision-making across sectors. Meanwhile, the Department of Culture & Tourism (DCT) revealed AI ALC Audiobooks, an innovative project that leverages AI to create personalized audiobook experiences, enriching the cultural landscape.

These initiatives underscore Abu Dhabi’s ambition to lead in AI and technology, positioning the city as a global hub for innovation and digital transformation.
